Description

Original painting

Rubén Albornoz Lombardo (often referred to as Ruben Oscar Albornoz) is an acclaimed Artentine painter born in Temperley, Buenos Aires, in 1938. Known for his classical training and expertise in oil paintings, his work specializes in portraits, landscapes, and costumbrista scenes.
After studying fine arts at the Escuela N°1 in Mar del Plata, where he won multiple extraordinary awards in portraiture, he expanded his studies in the United States, London, and Spain. In 1974, he permanently relocated to Madrid, where he became highly integrated into the Spanish art scene and served as a copista (copyist) for the Museo del Prado.
Throughout his career, he has completed significant portrait commissions, including notable figures such as Landelino Lavilla, the Infanta Elena of Spain, and the presidents of Caja Madrid. He has also been a featured participant in exhibitions like "Madrid visto por sus pintores" at the Círculo de Bellas Artes.

1974 is the exact year Albornoz permanently relocated from Argentina to Madrid, Spain. A painting dated 1974 represents a critical biographical milestone in his career, which adds narrative and historical value for collectors tracking his transition into the Spanish art scene.
